Whether your custom-designed insulated tent is intended for mineral exploration, mining operations, lodge/tourism application or for any other use, the high quality materials we employ, combined with your specific design needs, results in the exact insulated tent you require. Through years of experience under the harshest of conditions, we have learned that an insulated tent requires flexibility as well as quality. The insulation itself makes it possible for work crews or guests to remain afield for extended periods of time without sacrificing comfort. Equally important is a structure that allows you to alter its key components to meet any demand you may have - from unique length, width and height specifications to window and door location.

We start with the best system available - 10-ounce fire-retardant and mildew-resistant natural army duck exterior, and 7.4 oz. interior skins, sandwiching a 7/8-inch-thick 6 oz. poly fibre batting core of insulation. The canvas features multiple stitching on all stress points and heavy-duty zippers with Velcro weatherproofing flaps to ensure durability. These features make the structure heat efficient as well. Why canvas? Experts in the field know that high-tech plastic tents may be backed by great marketing, but they ‘’sweat,’’ making for an uncomfortable long-term choice - especially in the Arctic. Combine our know-how and experience with your specifications and you have one of the finest insulated wall tents available.

A Tent Designed With the Drill Crew in mind…  ’The Prospector Pete’  WASHABLE interior.

Anybody who has spend extended periods of time in an exploration camp has had the experience of living in a plastic quanset, or a tent that was too cold or too hot, or a tent that was dingy and grey inside from prior occupants.

After years of experience in “standard” design insulated tents we decided that there was a demand for a better insulated Exploration Tent. The two main features of this tent design are proper ventilation and the ability to wash the Duralite interior.

Drilling is a dirty and wet business. Once enough heat is generated to dry out wet gear, the environment in the tent is uncomfortable to sleep in. So we designed a simple Cross Ventilation through adjustable and mosquito proof gable vents. These can be opened to allow excess heat (and odors) to travel out of the tent and provide a comfortable environment for sleeping.

All tents will collect a grey dingy appearance after regular use and even more so if an accident with a back-drafted oil stove blows creosote into the interior. All other canvas insulated tents are impossible to clean after an accident or regular use, so ours are designed with a Breathable and Washable Interior Lining. This allows the interior to be washed with a simple soap solution when they become soiled.

Replacing a dirty tent can cost thousands of dollars. Cleaning our ’Prospector Pete’ Washable interior tents only costs a few dollars in soap and a bit of time with a sponge.

For even more comfort we advise building a wood frame on 4 foots wall stud centers to hang the tent on. This allows ease of installing shelves, hooks and hangers to make life in the bush a little more livable.
